MERROW 70-D3B-2 LS Two Thread, Locked Stitch Butt Seaming Machine

The Merrow 70-D3B-2 LS, Two thread, Locked stitch butt seaming machine features a worlds-best two thread butt seaming machine for light- to mid-weight materials. Designed to create a locked 16mm (5/8″) stitch, resulting in the most reliable way to secure two butt-ends of materials.

The Merrow 70-D3B-2 LS creates a two-thread butted seam on woven and non-woven goods. The second thread acts as a “locked-stitch” and is designed to lock the joining stitches in place. An effective end-end seam for operations that require added security or for fabrics that will undergo a napping process. Configurable to produce a butted, gap, or overlap seam to achieve optimum results, according to the demands of the fabrics and processes used.

Applications include: Two-thread locked butted seam for fiberglass and 5/8″ locked butted-seam for woven geotextile. Designed for napping and shearing processes. Used in Billboard construction and hook and lock manufacturing. The locked stitch effectiveness allows this machine to have broad appeal to markets outside of textile finishing (where the stitch is often removed) where joining materials with a permanent flat seam is desirable, producing joined materials at speed. More than 70 different needle plates and feed dogs available, enabling modifications allowing the accommodation of more demanding fabrics.

The 70-D3B-2 LS uses a new threading system to create the 16mm (5/8″) locked stitch. Ideal for processes that create significant and unpredictable tension on the seam. Using standard needle Merrow 8SDT; Needle range: Merrow 3SDT – 8SDT. Federal stitch type 501. Requires 1725 RPM, 60Hz, 1/2 HP, 110 or 220 volts, 1 or 3 phase motor. Operated by cams, not pistons, resulting in faster and quieter operation with remarkable durability.
